Heat Transfer for Skateboards
Using heat and pressure presses to print graphics on skateboards is an industry innovation that offers increased speed and a wide range of options in terms of colours and types of design. This advanced technique uses graphics which are printed, or silk-screen printed, onto a thermal-transfer film, capable of withstanding high temperatures, thereby removing the need to wait for each individual ink to dry on the board.
Printing options
We offer our customers a wide range of options to personalise their skateboards:
- Colours: We have the whole range of the Pantone colour chart, available in matt or gloss finishes.
- Special Effects: We provide printing options in golden and silver tones, with embossing, holography and glow-in-the-dark options also available.
- Digital Printing: UV laser printing is a modern alternative which removes the costs associated with traditional silkscreen printing.
Reprints
Traditional Silk-Screen Printing
After each production, suppliers keep the silkscreens for two years, which makes reprints more affordable during this time. After this, if you want to reprint the boards, the costs to set up the graphics will need to be paid.
Digital Printing
Digital or UV laser printing don’t have any settings costs or require any screens, so there is no change in the price of reprints.
Minimum Production Quantity
- CMYK or Pantone: The minimum quantity is 50 boards with the same graphics, in a range of sizes and shapes.
- UV Printing: The minimum quantity is 20 boards.
This advanced, flexible focus on personalising skateboards allows customers to create unique, distinctive designs at the same time as ensuring maximum quality and efficiency in production.
FILES
We will need a vector file (AI or PDF). We also accept PSD files.
For digital printing, files must be 300 dpi, with the real size to be printed. Accepted formats are: PNG, PDF, AI, CDR, PSD and JPEG.
